Tommy Clish

Former keeper passes away
We are very sad to hear about the passing of our former player Tommy Clish, who has died at the age of 91.
Tommy, who was born in Wheatley Hill, came to us from West Ham United and made his debut against Hartlepool in August 1955.
He went to make 58 appearances for us, one of which was in one of the first ever floodlit FA Cup ties at Carlisle in a goalless first round replay in November 1955. He played in the next replay, a 3-1 win, which was played at Newcastle's St James Park in front of a 34,257 crowd.
Tommy also played in the first two matches of our great FA Cup run in season 1957-58 -- the first round victory over Rochdale, and the second round win at Boston. Tommy left the club in 1958.
Everyone at Darlington FC would like to pass on their condolences to Tommy's frends and family
