Darlington Football Club is sad to learn about the death of popular supporter Alan “Benny” Bennett.

Benny had supported Quakers home and away for many years, and was a familiar face in the front row of the stand at Heritage Park. Like every other Darlo fan, he was delighted to see two successful promotion campaigns in the last three years.

Darlington manager Martin Gray said; “It was great to have a chat with Benny at our games. He had our football club at heart, and he will be greatly missed.”

We would like to express our sincere condolences to Benny’s family, and we will pass on details of Benny’s funeral as and when they’re known.
