Cleveland Juniors Hawks 5 Darlington Youth u16s 0
After a reversal of fixture due to the St.Aidens pitches being waterlogged the u16's travelled to Acklam where they faced Cleveland Juniors Hawks on a long and bobbly surface.
A strong first half performance from the u16s saw them create a few good chances and control the proceedings with good intelligent play. Darlo were very unlucky not to be awarded a penalty late in the second half. Despite an impressive first half the u16's went into the break 1-0 down.
Cleveland started the second half really well with a very high tempo of play. Darlington did well to keep up with the play but it soon took its toll and tiredness started to creep in. Having no substitutes made it difficult for the lads but they dug in to the final whistle and gave a very good account of themselves.
A big thank you to the parents today who twice rearranged themselves after the game was called off and then called back on again. Your support is much appreciated.
