Jarrow Under 17s 0 Darlington Under 17s 5

An excellent performance by Darlington Under 17s, as they travelled to top of the league Jarrow, in an attempt to end their season long unbeaten run.

The game started very evenly, both sides sharing equal spells of position but creating no real chances. However after a very tightly competed first half, Darlington took the lead with a long range effort from Lee Hume, as the away side broke the deadlock 5 minutes before half time.

The second half began much differently, Darlington having long spells of possession and creating very clear chances. The first of which was finished by Dale Milburn, extending the away side’s lead in the 51st minute. This brilliant display was continued by Luke Jenkinson who scored the team's third just 5 minutes later. Unfortunately at this point the game took a turn for the worst, very much against the flow of play, Jarrow were awarded a penalty, which hit the post and was cleared by a quick to react Nathan Bowman. After this however, the easily defeated Jarrow side, became very aggressive, persistently fouling the Darlington side. Despite this the U17s continued their excellent creative play, Dale Milburn scoring his second and third within quick succession, confirming his hat trick for the day. The away side controlled the rest of the game, cruising through to the final whistle at 5-0.

A brilliant victory for Darlington, ending Jarrow's unbeaten run in excellent fashion. A big thank you for the support from South Moor Juniors and Esh Winning. Now to look forward to our County Cup Final tie against Hartlepool FC this Tuesday
