Darlington Under 17s had a great 4-3 win in the Durham County Cup against a team that is a year older than them.

Quakers beat Durham Youth Under 18s, one of the leading teams in the Russell Foster League, by 4-3 at Longfield School.

Joseph Smith (2), Dale Milburn and Luke Jenkinson were the scorers for Darlo, who held their nerve against a late fightback when they led 4-1 going into the last few minutes.

Team manager Martin Gray said; “It was an outstanding performance against a group of lads who are a year older than them.”
