Darlington Under 18s go into the Christmas break as the leaders of the Durham County Under 18 league when they beat Shildon 1-0 in their top of the table clash on Saturday.

James Marley scored the only goal of the game from just inside the box after 35 minutes, and despite having a man sent off they held on for a great win to keep them ahead of Shildon and New Hartley.

Manager Andrew Jinks said; “The lads played some good football even with ten men, the effort and team shape were great and we limited their chances. Nathan Stephenson dropped into midfield and controlled the game. It’s great to be top of the league at the Christmas break. The lads have done really well so far this season.”
