Award winning restaurant Babul's become women's team shirt sponsors

Local business backs the Quakers
Darlington FC are delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal with highly rated local restaurant Babul’s.
Babul’s, which were recognised as the best restaurant in the north east at the 2024 Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards, have agreed to become the front of shirt sponsor for our women’s team for the rest of this season and season 2025-26, as well as taking out an advert board at Blackwell Meadows, an advert in every DFC home programme, and an advert on the official DFC website.
Darlington chief executive officer David Johnston said; “We are delighted to welcome Babul’s to our club.
“We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club at the heart of the community, and we look forward to working alongside Babul’s. Just as we are, they are very keen on taking women’s and girls’ football at the club forward.”
Shuhel Ahmed, Managing Director of Babul’s, says that they are “thrilled” to sponsor our women’s team. “Football has always been a passion of mine, and as a father to two wonderful daughters, I want them to grow up seeing strong, independent women breaking barriers and reaching their full potential. Darlington women’s team manager Shaun MacKenzie said: “I would like to personally thank Shuhel Ahmed and his team at Babul’s for agreeing to sponsor the team as the girls deserve to be playing with a sponsor on the front of their shirts!
“It’s great that it’s a local business and we are very grateful for the support they have given us. Hopefully it’s the start of a long term relationship with the women’s team and we look forward to working closely with them in the future.
“Our aim has always been to inspire the next generation of young girls and young keen footballers in Darlington and we can only do that with the backing of the club and key sponsors like Babul’s. So thanks again for your generosity and support for DFC Women.”
