Big test against Doncaster on Saturday

Third friendly of pre-season

Doncaster Rovers will provide stiff opposition when they visit Blackwell Meadows for Quakers' third pre season game pn Saturday (kick off 12.30)

Rovers produced a terrific late run to get into the League Two play offs last season, but they lost on penalties to Crewe in the semi final after winning the away leg 2-0, but then losing the home leg by the same scoreline.

Their manager, Grant McCann, will be bringing a strong first team squad as they prepare for the start of the EFL season in August.

Darlington manager Steve Watson will once again be keeping a close eye on the triallists who have played a part in Quakers' two friendly wins so far, against Bishop Auckland by 5-0 and Hebburn by 3-1.

Jack Maskell, who missed the midweek game because of family commitments, will return to the Darlington squad, alongside the other new summer signings Pete Jameson, Scott Barrow and Joe Leesley.

The gates open at 11am, the match kicks off at 12.30pm.
