The Quakers return to action when they travel to Croft Park to take on Blyth Spartans to kick off pre-season.

This will be the first of seven pre-season games for Darlo to get ready for the new season ahead.

Ahead of the game, Steve and Terry have been able to keep a good core of the team as well as bringing back former loanees Aidan Rutledge on a permanent deal and Will McGowan on a season-long loan. Newcomers Tom Allan and Josh Scott have joined the club and will look to make their debuts in these upcoming games. Keeper Pete Jameson is back on loan with the club and is in the squad.

Youngster Will Maddison will also be a part of the first team squad this season, with Steve planning to have a look at him during this pre-season.

Blyth have had a challenging last few years with two back-to-back relegations, but Spartans will look to make their way back up the leagues and will want to have a strong season this year in the Northern Premier League East Division. They are managed by former Bishop Auckland boss Colin Myers.

πŸ‘€ Player Spotlight

The new look Blyth squad features some familiar faces for fans who followed the Darlington youth ranks last season, as it features defender Harvey Rudd, who won the club's Academy Player of the Year last season, while featuring on the bench in a handful of games last season.

It also features former academy player Dan Maw, who scored the only goal in Blyth’s 1-0 victory against Tow Law on Tuesday night.

They also include Arran Wearmouth, who was with Quakers in their EvoStik League days.
