Brackley game designated as Her Game Too day
By Ray Simpson

Celebration of International Women's Day
Darlington FC are pleased to announce as part of our commitment to HerGameToo and in celebration of International Women’s Day, we will be dedicating our National League North game on 1st March against Brackley to the HerGameToo campaign.
Her Game Too are a group of female volunteers who are passionate about football. They are working to eradicate sexism in the football industry and want women and girls of all ages to feel confident and safe watching their teams, working including volunteering in the football industry and sharing their opinions about football online and in real life without the fear of sexist abuse.
Player advocate Scott Barrow said; " On behalf of the club, we are extremely proud of the work we do with Her Game Too.
"It's so important to spread awareness of the campaign, to stop sexism in both football and society. We want everyone who attends a Darlington FC Game to feel safe and welcome. What the players do on the pitch, might inspire a future female player at Darlington.
"The Club have worked with Her Game Too for couple of years, to ensure all girls and women, no matter their age, can feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football both in stadiums and online without fear of abuse. Having the partnership with #HerGameToo ensures that Darlington remains committed to addressing the needs of its female players, fans, and staff and raises the profile of some of the challenges girls and women still face today, any abuse is not tolerated and we urge anyone to report it where possible. Myself and Will Hatfield are very proud to be advocates of Her Game Too and look forward to the event."

We have invited our girls and women’s teams to the game as part of the occasion. Our DFC players will be wearing HerGameToo warm up t-shirts. We will have some of our female youth team members joining the guard of honour and bearing HGT flags.
We will also have a selfie board at the game and will be encouraging photos so we can build an album of Darlington Supporters of HerGameToo. A special thanks to John Tempest of Tempest Jones for his continued support and sponsorship of the warm up t-shirts and selfie board.
The playlist on the day will be an all-female playlist as chosen by DFC’s HerGameToo team and our fans. We will also be shortly running a competition for two female Darlo fans to read the teams out at the game.
