🔥 Match Preview

Darlo look to continue their form from last week’s win against Alfreton when they travel to  Chorley, hoping to gain their first win in ten seasons at Victory Park.

The Quakers finally got 2026 started after two postponements with a 3-1 win against a physical Alfreton team with goals from Tom Allan, Cedric Main and Will McGowan to round off a great team performance.

Away from home this season, Quakers have won six of their twelve away league games, making them the 7th best in the league, picking up 19 points.

Darlington’s opponents, Chorley, haven’t been as strong as they’d like and aren’t where they’d want to be in the table at 11th, but they are always capable of going on a streak and pushing right back to the playoff spots where they’ve finished many times.

The Magpies come into this game after an intense game against the always challenging Chester, where, thanks to a 94th-minute own goal, Chorley were able to gain a point away from home in a 3-3 draw.

At Victory Park this season, Chorley have been one of the best teams in the league when at home and are 5th in the home form table with seven wins and three draws in 12 games with 25 goals scored and 14 conceded for a total of 24 points from a possible 36.

The last time the two teams met was on the first day of the season, when, after leading in the first half, Darlo couldn’t hold on, and two goals in the second half from Chorley won them the game 3-2. The last time the Quakers travelled to Victory Park was in October 2024, when Chorley were 3-0 winners.

👤 Player Spotlight

In the middle of the pitch for Chorley is young midfielder Taelor O’Kane, who joined The Magpies on loan from fellow National League North side AFC Fylde. He is a strong player who likes to progress the ball and has already scored against Darlington this season when the Quakers drew 2-2 at Mill Farm.

Another player to watch is veteran centre-half Mark Ellis, who over the last few seasons has had an eye for goal. He has scored twice this season and set up four goals. With Chorley being a quite direct team, he is one of their main threats, especially from set pieces.
