Award to mark 70 years in charge
Darlington Fc was delighted at the last home game to present an award to our match officials' host, Terry Farley, to mark 70 years in the middle.
Terry started refereeing in local football and worked his way up the football ladder to take charge of games for many seasons in the old First Division, at places like Anfield, St James' Park and Elland Road.
When he had to retire from refereeing professional games, he took charge of lower level games, and was still refereeing academy and university games until the start of this season. He has now decided to hang up his whistle.
Terry was presented with his award by another well-known referee, George Courtney, who was our guest in hospitality that day.
We would like to thank Terry for all the work and advice he has provided for the club in recent years.
