πŸ”₯ Match Preview

The Quakers look to respond after two losses whe they welcome Buxton to Blackwell Meadows on Tuesday night.

Darlo come into this match after an away game at Chester, where, despite a Toby Lees header to bring the game level, the home side were able to win it in the last minute of the game.

At Blackwell Meadows this season, the Quakers have been able to gain 26 points in 16 games with seven wins and five draws, with 34 goals scored and 23 conceded, which puts them 12th in the home form table.

Darlington’s opponents, Buxton, are a bit lower than they’d have hoped after getting to the playoffs last season and currently sit 13th in the league.

The Bucks come into this game after a 3-1 loss at home to Kidderminster Harriers, with Johnny Johnston getting the Buxton goal.

Away from home this season, Buxton tend to be a tough contest with six wins and four draws in 16 away games this season, with 26 goals scored, and 23 conceded for a total of 22 points, which puts them 11th in away form in the league.

The last time the two clubs met was back in October, when Buxton came out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Tai Sodje in the first half. The last time Buxton made the trip to Blackwell Meadows was back in January of 2025, when Buxton picked up the three points with an early penalty from Luke Brennan.

πŸ‘€ Player Spotlight

One of Buxton’s most important players this season has been Luke Brennan, who operates from the wings for our visitors. He has contributed ten goals and nine assists this season, but hasn’t been involved in a goal in his last eight appearances.

A familiar face to Darlington fans is Will Flint, who is on loan at Buxton till the end of the season. He won Darlington’s Young Player of the season award last year while on loan. He spent most of this season on loan at Gateshead but was recalled by Doncaster and sent to Buxton, where he has played seven games, scoring one goal against Merthyr.

Buxton include another former Darlington player, Kieran Burton, who was on loan to us from Hartlepool two seasons ago.
