A late revival was't enough for Quakers to pick p a point from their lcoal derby against Spennymoor.

After doing well for the first 15 minutes, they fell behind on 19 minutes, and Spennymoor took control of the game, scoring another after half time.

But Jacob Hazel's 85th minute goal gave Quakers some hope, but they'd left themselves with too much to do.

Quakers made ground up the left with Jonny Ngandu who found Jacob Hazel up the line, but Hazel’s low cross was cleared at the near post.

Good play by Blaine Rowe on the left saw him beat two men and set up Tom Platt, who fired wide of the left hand post from the edge of the box.

Quakers won the first corner on 6 minutes . The ball was floated in by Ngandu for Platt to have a header blocked for another corner, which was headed away.

Quakers had a chance on 7 minutes when Hatfield squeezed the ball into the box for Cameron Salkeld to have a shot blocked, and from an acute angle, Hazel fired into the side netting.

A loose pass backwards put Quakers in a little bit of trouble, but JaKe Lawlor managed to slide in and get the ball back to David Robson.

Moors were forced into a change on 11 minutes when Curtis limped off, and was replaced by Mbeka.

Moors took the lead on 19 minutes. The Darlington defence failed to clear a right wing cross properly, and the ball came out to Danny Greenfield, who hit a right foot shot that went through a crowd of players, deceived keeper Robson and went into the net.

Quakers made a sub on 26, Hayden Lindley coming on for Lawlor, while Moors replaced the injured Ledger with Keenan Ferguson. Platt moved into the middle of defence alongside Griffiths and Burton.

It was nearly 2-0 on 30 minutes when Greenfield floated the ball in from the right for Taylor to glance the ball just wide.

There was a left off for Quakers on 31 minutes when they lost possession inside their own half, and Ramshaw set up Harris, who sidefooted wide.

Quakers had a half chance on 41 minutes when Burton won the ball midway inside his own half and played a good ball forward for Salkeld to run into the box, but he couldn’t quite get his effort on target.

Moors had another chance when the ball was driven into the six yard area from a corner, and Harris glanced the ball wide.

Quakers went up the other end and nearly scored, when Hatfield and Hazel combined well to send Salkeld away, but his shot was parried by Montgomery.

Half time 0-1

At the start of the second half, Robson had to tip away a left wing cross by Staunton under pressure.

Moors gained a corner on 51 minutes, which Robson managed to push away.

Spennymoor controlled the game until the hour mark, when Salkeld was fouled. Ngandu curled the free kick in from the left for Burton to have a header punched away.

Moors broke up the other end, and Platt put in a great last ditch tackle to stop Staunton. From the corner, the ball dropped to Greenfield, whose shot was well saved by Robson.

Robson made another great save when Taylor picked the ball up on the right and hit a left foot shot that the keeper pushed away.

It was 2-0 on 68 minutes, when Ramshaw made ground down the right and crossed perfectly into the middle for Anderson to volley home.

Quakers won a corner on 72 minutes , but Montgomery fisted the ball away.

They had a chance on 81 minutes when Hazel laid off a Griffiths cross for Lindley to fire towards the bottom corner, but Montgomery saved, then Hazel tried a left foot shot that dipped just over the bar.

Quakers pulled a goal back on 85 minutes when Salkeld found hazel in the box, and the striker fired across the keeper into the top corner.
