Darlington Women at Bishops on Sunday

First away league game
The Quaker Women are back in league action on Sunday when they travel to King James to take on Bishop Auckland Ladies F.C in their first away league game of the 25/26 campaign.
Bishop are competing in the Durham FA Premier Division for the first time in a few seasons after being relegated from the North East Regional League last season. In their opening game last weekend, they suffered a 9-1 defeat to fellow relegation rivals Chester Le Street Amazons.
This will be the first time the two sides have met competitively. However, they have played each other a few times in pre season. Darlington won the first contest 4-2 in the August of 2021. They met again a couple of years later in the August of 2023 and Darlington won the game 7-0 with 4 goals from ex Quaker Sara Ellis and a hat-trick from Hattie Raine. The last time the two sides met in the pre season of 2024, Bishop came away with a 6-4 win in a 10 goal thriller.
The Quaker Women will be looking to bounce back from their FA cup exit at the hands of Ponteland and will be happy to be back in league action this weekend.
Please note a slightly later kick off than usual, it’s a 2:45pm kick off at the King James Academy.
