Darlington Women take on the Amazons this Sunday

Latest game in Durham County League

Darlington FC Women are back in league action this Sunday when they travel to Houghton Kepier to take on Chester Le Street Amazons Women.

The Quaker Women are looking to recover from the Sunderland defeat and Amazons will also be looking to finish off their season with a win after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Leam Rangers last time out.

The two sides have already met twice this season. The Quaker Women came out on top in the County Cup in November, winning 5-3 with a brace each from Chloe Ryan and Hattie Raine and a goal from Olivia Whitworth. They then shared the points in the league game at Eastbourne, in a 1-1 draw in January with a 13 minute Hattie Raine goal and a 24th minute equaliser the only goals in the game.

The sides met 3 times last season as well, with another draw and 2 wins for Darlington. An early FA Cup tie finished 4-2 to the Quakers with another Raine brace and a goal each from Emma Doudican and Sophie Curle. Followed by a 2-2 draw in the league and a 5-1 win on last day of the season with a brace each for midfielders Aimee Dagnall and Katie Sheridan.

Darlington will be looking to continue their undefeated record against the Amazons and the Amazons will be hoping to get their first win over the Quaker Women.
