Darlington are hoping to successfully enter a reserve team into the first division of the Wearside League at its AGM tonight.

Quakers have set up a reserve team under the managership of Mark Fanning, and hope to enter the Wearside League first division, where there are two vacancies. Spennymoor Town have a team in this division.

MF said; “We want to develop the young talent we have at the club, and provide them with a level of senior football which will enable them to possibly become members of the first team squad.”

If Quakers fail to gain access to the first division, then they will probably be placed in the league’s development division. Their home games will be played at Eastbourne.

The club has been canvassing support from the other league clubs, and will make a presentation as part of their case tonight.
