Long serving fan passes away
The club is sad to learn about the death of long serving fan David Robinson at the age of 78.
David started watching us in the mid50s, and saw many of the clubs' ups and downs, starting with the fifth round FA Cup tie at Wolves in 1958.
His son Damien said; "We lost, but seeing the great Billy Wright play was a highlight for Dad, he was a life long fan. I travelled with him to watch Darlo v Plymouth at Wembley and also the Walsall game in the FA Cup, so many happy memories shared as a Darlo fan.
"He was also proud of my son, Alfie make his debut for the Darlo U23s last season in which he scored from the spot as captain on the final game of the season. We travelled home and away to watch the U23 last season and he built a great rapport with the players and team management.
"He used to stand over near the half way line with my mum (who sadly passed away January 2024), David Lord and John Waddleton both of whom he had kept in touch with from their school days."
We'd like to pass on our condolences to David's family and friends.
