Elliot Forbes signed for next season

Key defender commits to Darlo

Darlington defender Elliot Forbes has agreed a new contract for the 2025-26 season, subject to FA and National League approval.

Forbes joined The Quakers in the summer of 2024 after leaving Blyth Spartans, and after a trial period in pre-season, Elliot was signed ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Since his signing, Forbes has been a vital part of the Darlo defence. He made 36 appearances throughout last season, scoring three goals, and he became an essential part of the team and grew as the season went on.

Manager Steve Watson: "Elliot came to us at the start of last season after a tough spell with injuries, so it was very much a trial season for both him and us. He came through with flying colours. He’s played comfortably at National League level and no doubt had offers elsewhere, so it speaks volumes about the club and our supporters that he’s chosen to stay. He’s shown he can play centre-half or centre-midfield, which gives us real flexibility and allows our full-backs to push higher — something we’ll need next season."

Everyone at the club is delighted that Elliot has agreed to stay for another season.
