Salford City remain top of the table after a 3-1 victory in their tricky looking fixture at Scarborough Athletic.  Alex Metcalfe gave Scarborough a lead in just the sixth minute. However, Salford turned the game around before half-time with goals from Gareth Seddon and Gary Stopforth. Seddon added a third early in the second half to seal the victory.

Spennymoor Town are still in the title race after a comfortable victory at home to struggling Padiham. Andrew Stephenson scored early on for Spennymoor, but they had to wait another hour to extend their lead, thanks to two quick goals from Nathan Fisher and a Thomas Murphy own goal. Curtis Haley pulled a goal back late on for Padiham, however, Spennymoor ran out 3-1 winners.

Spennymoor were hoping to close the gap on the leaders further, but their game at New Mills on Monday night was postponed.

Bamber Bridge’s play-off hopes took a hit, as they lost 4-3 at Droylsden. Bamber took the lead through a Daniel Mahoney penalty after just quarter of an hour. However, Fernando Moke levelled just a minute later. A Michael Monaghan goal and a Daniel Mahoney own goal gave Droylsden a 3-1 lead at the break. Alistair Waddecar pulled a goal back early in the second half. However, both sides scored in stoppage time thanks to Ciaran Kilheeney and Glenn Steel, as Droyslden held on for the win.

Farsley’s recent woes continued, as they lost 1-0 at home to Lancaster City on Saturday. Ryan Serrant putting the ball into his own net for the only goal of the game in the first half.

Clitheroe secured a dramatic victory at home to Ossett Town, 3-2. Steven Jeff and Josh Whiteley both scored in the opening half an hour to give Ossett a 2-0 lead. However, three goals in the final five minutes of the game from Zack Dale, Joseph Mullen and Ross Dent turned the game around in Clitheroe’s favour.

Prescot Cables remain in danger of finishing in the bottom two after defeat at Ossett Albion. Connor Brunt scored the only goal of the game seven minutes from time for Albion.

However, Prescot helped their survival hopes with a surprise victory against Lancaster City on Tuesday night. Jack Phillips scored the only goal of the game for Prescot with five minutes left.

New Mills are currently second bottom and despite taking the lead at Burscough they ended up losing 4-1. Ross Needham gave New Mills the lead before Wade Joyce levelled. Mark Beesley then scored twice in five minutes to put Burscough in control. William Jones sealed the win late on as Buscough comfortably ran out winners.

This Bank Holiday weekend we face two tough games, at home to Droylsden on Saturday before travelling to Scarborough Athletic on Monday.  Salford City host Spennymoor Town on Saturday.
