Evo-Stik Week 26 Round up

Evo-Stik Week 26 Round up

Here is Simon Hahn's weekly Evo-Stik round up. Darlington stayed top of the division with an impressive victory away to playoff chasing Harrogate RA. A hat-trick from Terry Galbraith, along with goals from Nelson Mota and Graeme Armstrong saw the Quakers win 5-1.

Salford City remain level on points with Darlington, however we do still have three games in hand. Salford won 2-0 last weekend at home to New Mills. Gareth Seddon opened the scoring after quarter of an hour with Matthew Chadwick sealing the victory for the Ammies late on.

Northwich Victoria lost ground on the top two after they lost their second game in a row, at Bamber Bridge. Goals from Alistair Waddecar and Simon Wiles either side of half time gave Bamber the victory and boost their own promotion chances. Bamber Bridge are currently in sixth place in the league table.

Scarborough Athletic won a dramatic game at Droylsden, in a clash of two sides with play-off ambitions. James Beadle gave the Seadogs the lead before Ciaran Kilheeney levelled in the final minute. However, there would be another late twist, as Thomas Corner scored the winner in stoppage time for Scarborough. The 2-1 win keeps Athletic in fourth place, with Droylsden slipping down to seventh.

Spennymoor Town played twice this week and moved into a play-off place. Joe Tait opened the scoring at home to Radcliffe Borough on Saturday. Matthew Davies levelled for Radcliffe, however, Spennymoor grabbed all the points and a 2-1 victory thanks to a goal 14 minutes from full time from Paul Johnson.

On Tuesday Spennymoor travelled to Kendal Town and came away with a 4-2 victory. Michael Roberts scored a hat-trick inside the first 35 minutes to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead. Jordan Connerton and George Mason pulled goals back for Kendal, before Joe Tait scored late on to seal the victory for Spennymoor.

Farsley slipped further away from the playoff places after they were beaten 2-1 away to Warrington. Early goals from Thomas Hardwick and Scott Metcalfe saw Warrington take a 2-0 lead, before Michael Aspin pulled a goal back for Farsley.

Warrington won again on Wednesday night, 3-0, away to New Mills. David Mannix gave Warrington the lead in the first half, with further goals coming from Steven Tames and Gerard Kinsella.

The game of the week saw an incredible ten goals shared by Clitheroe and Kendal Town with Clitheroe coming out on top 6-4. Sefton Gonzales scored a double for Clitheroe with Jordan Connerton doing the same for Kendal.

Mossley won 1-0 away to Ossett Albion, with the only goal of the game coming from Joshua Granite in the 52nd minute.

Lancaster City won 3-0 at home to Prescot Cables. Lancaster took the lead just before half-time with Neil Marshall opening the scoring. Billy Akrigg and Ryan Winder scored further goals for Lancaster in the second half as they ran out comfortable winners.

Padiham picked up a point away to Burscough and they very nearly came away with all three. Brett Ormerod scored early in the second half for Padiham. However, they were denied all three points when Jordan Williams scored the equaliser for Burscough in stoppage time.

Ossett Town moved further away from any relegation fears with a 3-2 victory at home to Brighouse Town. Thomas Matthews twice gave Brighouse the lead, but goals from Nathan Curtis, Grant Allott and Daniel Cunningham saw Ossett take all the points. Ossett then picked up a further victory on Tuesday night at home to Prescot Cables. Darol Lucas scored the only goal of the game for Ossett Town in the final minute of the first half.
