Support the Harvey McWilliams Foundation on Saturday

Collection before the Chorley game.

Before Saturday's home game against Chorley, we'll be holding a collection in aid of the Harvey McWilliams Foundation.
If you have any spare boots, shinpads or goalkeeping gloves, bring them along to our collection points near the turnstiles.
Harvey was a former player of ours, who sadly took his life just over a year ago.
His dad, Michael, sent us some details of the Foundation:

Harvey McWilliams sadly passed away by suicide on the 21st December 2021 and we believe it's very important to reach out and talk whether you are living with depression, having intrusive thoughts or living with domestic abuse etc. Harvey enjoyed his football from a very young age playing locally for Darlington 21st All Stars, Blackwell Rangers then being scouted for his hometown club Darlington FC. Whilst Harvey was enjoying his football he gained the necessary grades to be accepted into Exeter University to study sports science and exercise, again Harvey picked up his love for football playing for a local grassroots team Exeter Royals FC

Who we are and what are our aim(s)

A charity helping those to access football and raise awareness of mental health. Website and social media platforms in progress. Twitter @HMFoundation18

Our mission: Helping those access football through lending equipment such as boots , shinpads and goalkeeper gloves. We believe nobody should not be able to play football whatever the circumstances therefore our aim is to help those reach their potential, increase confidence and promote mental health and wellbeing.

Our Goal is to unite organisations, players and managers, clubs, media outlets, brands, influential voices and other stakeholders locally and from football and mental health to support our mission.

The idea came from Harvey's brother Luke as Harvey would give his boots away to those less fortunate as he couldn't understand why someone who wanted to play football had to pay. Basically the charity will be here to help those who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who has donated today whether it's some old boots or some spare change this will help towards achieving our goal.  For more info and for boot drop off please contact Michael on: 07716172729/mcwilliamsm@hotmail.com
