International Women's Day
Her Game Too release a new short film for International Women’s Day titled Same Sport. Different Support., calling on football to confront a simple truth: you can’t expect equal results without equal opportunity.
The film opens with two footballers, one female and one male, completing what appears to be an identical challenge. Same kit style. Same environment. Same rules. One performs slightly worse. Only later do viewers discover the woman has been quietly disadvantaged throughout, facing obstacles that represent what is often lacking for women in sport: less funding, less research and poorer facilities.
The message of the film is primarily aimed at challenging outdated attitudes towards women’s sport. While the playing field is not level yet, Her Game Too remain confident that partner clubs will continue working alongside the campaign to move closer to that goal. Progress takes time. This is a long-term commitment from everyone involved and recognising that change is needed is an essential first step.
The lead narrator in the film is Mary Earps MBE, goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and former Lioness. The film features players Gabby George and Omari Mrisho.
Same Sport. Different Support. was supported by Wildstar Films, GORILLA Post Production - Bristol, Bury FC, The Purpose Agency, The National Lottery, N3XUS and Hope & Glory Sportswear.
The film will premiere across Her Game Too’s social channels on Sunday 8 March 2026 at 10:00AM (GMT).
