Latest signing for our women's team

Darlington FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of U17 forward, Izzy Walker.

Izzy started off playing her youth football with Stockton Town U9s and stayed there for 6 full seasons before coming over to our Darlington Feethams side at U15. Izzy has spent the last 3 seasons at the club and still plays for our U17s Feethams side who currently sit 3rd in the U17 Girls Premier Division. Izzy has scored 13 goals in just 6 games!

Manager Shaun Mackenzie said about his latest signing: "We were a few players short of a full squad for the Cestria game a couple of weeks ago for a number of reasons and we called up a couple of the U17 girls to train with us. Izzy came along and impressed enough to earn herself a place in the squad for that weekend. She is eager to learn and has a fantastic attitude and has fitted in well with the girls. She’s done well for the U17s since coming to Darlo a few years ago and I felt she deserved the opportunity to sign for the Women’s team. She’s already shown she’s got an eye for goal with a goal on her home debut last Sunday and we wish Izzy all the best in her time with us."

Izzy, who will wear the squad number 19 for the remainder of the 25/26 season said:"I was thrilled to be invited to go and train with the first team. The coaching staff and girls have made me feel really welcome after being called up from the Under 17s. It’s a real privilege to be involved, and I think I have fitted in well with the team."

Izzy has already been in the matchday squad and came off the bench for her debut in the 3-2 loss to Durham Cestria Reserves. Izzy then made her home debut in the 15-0 win against Bishop Auckland Ladies and got herself on the scoresheet to score her first goal for the Quaker Women.
