Darlington are thrilled to announce the signing of Jacob Hazel on a short-term loan with the club, subject to National League and FA clearance. 

Jacob, 32, is a name Darlo fans will need little introduction to after spending just over a season with the club in 2022-23, where he found the back of the net 24 times in 70 games, creating a well-known partnership with Mark Beck. 

Jacob started his career at Chesterfield before leaving for Mickleover Sports, whom he helped win promotion to the Northern Premier League, scoring 18 times in the 14/15 season. 

After a year at Mickleover, he moved to Frickley Athletic and scored 19 goals for them in the 2015-16 season. He would join Scarborough Athletic in 2016 and scored 13 times for them in 20 matches before rejoining Frickley again in 2017. 

After a prolific spell at Frickley, scoring 88 times in 115 matches for them, he would make the move to Whitby Town in the summer of 2020. He would score 31 goals in 50 appearances for the Blues, which ultimately got the attention of Darlington. 

After his time at Darlo the first time, Jacob would move onto Boston United in November 2023 and would go on to win promotion to the National League with the side, scoring five in 17 games and playing all of last season in the National League, registering 13 goals in 42 games. 

Jacob has also featured for Saint Kitts and Nevis internationally, featuring in the CONCACAF Gold Cup for his country, and has scored once in nine appearances for The Sugar Boyz.

Jacob goes straight into the squad for Hebburn Town.
