Jamie out for the season

Second cruciate injury

Striker Jamie Holmes has been sadly ruled out for the season with a second cruciate injury.

Jamie had just recovered from a first cruciate injury on the same knee with the help and attention of therapist Danny O’Connor, and was back to full fitness when pre season training started.

However, he injured his knee again in a training game at Gateshead just over a fortnight ago, and the bad news was confirmed by a specialist earlier this week.

Manager Alun Armstrong said; “I feel really sorry for the lad, because he has worked really hard to get back into first team reckoning.”

Danny had spent a lot of time with Jamie during lockdown, and said; “I was really pleased with all the hard work Jamie had done to get himself fully fit, he was flying. Then it’s happened again.”

Everybody at Darlington FC would like to send their sympathies to Jamie, and wish him a speedy recovery.
