Darlington Football Club is looking for a volunteer finance assistant to join its finance team.
Over recent years the football club have significantly improved the financial control and quality of reporting, providing invaluable insights to the board. This has allowed the club to make strategic decisions safe in the knowledge that they are based on a sustainable platform, allowing the club to grow within its means.
Due to increased workload in the existing finance team, we are seeking to expand to ensure continuation of accurate and timely reporting to the board.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Entering supplier invoices
- Raising invoices to customers as required
- Bank reconciliations within finance system
- Monitor finance inbox and action as required
- Assist in month end reporting
- Develop and improve processes to drive efficiencies where possible
Desirable Knowledge / Experience / Skills
- Be able to work as part of a small, remotely managed volunteer team
- Have attention to detail and ability to accurately input financial data
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft excel
- Be familiar with accounting systems and payment platforms (the club use Xero, Stripe and Square so these would be preferable)
- Be able to commit to around 10 hours per month
