Darlington skipper Kevin Burgess has targeted six points from the next two away matches.

Quakers go into the away game at Worcester on Saturday in seventh place, but just a point behind the last play off place, which is currently occupied by Stockport County.

And with a game coming up at another team fighting relegation, Stalybridge Celtic, next Saturday, then Quakers might move into the top five in the next eight days if results go in their favour.

“The game at Worcester is another must-win game for us. Before the Altrincham game on Wednesday, Martin said that he wants nine points from these three games, and as a group of players, we back that.

“We’re going there in a very good frame of mind. We had a much-needed win on Wednesday to push us further up the league.

“We scored some good goals, but I was absolutely fuming that we conceded a goal from their only shot.

“I thought we looked really solid defensively, we didn’t give much away on a difficult pitch.”
