πŸ”₯ Match Preview

Darlo look to rebound after a disappointing loss midweek to Fylde when they travel down to the Docherty Walks Stadium to take on King’s Lynn Town.

The Quakers come into this game after a hard-fought battle against Fylde, when two late goals proved to be the difference as The Coasters walked away 3-1 winners.

Darlington’s opponents, King’s Lynn, have had a strong start to the season with two wins and one draw and come into this game after a 5-0 win away to Spennymoor with goals from Bailey Clements and Reece Hall-Johnson, as well as a Michael Gyasi hat-trick.

The Linnets are undefeated so far in the league after three games and had a good pre-season with games against League One Peterborough United and National League Ebbsfleet to prepare for the season.

Last season, King’s Lynn finished within the playoff spots in 6th place but lost out in a close battle to Chorley in the quarter-finals.

The last time the two teams met in February this year, Darlington walked away 1-0 winners, thanks to a Kallum Griffiths wonder-strike from outside of the box in the fifth minute which was enough for The Quakers to keep the three points at Blackwell Meadows.

πŸ“° Team News

Alfie Myers-Smith is out with a knee injury.

Defender Kallum Griffiths and midfielder Matty Cornish are still not fully fit.

Cedric Main has a cut head and is doubtful.

Jack Maskell will have a fitness test on an ankle injury, but should be fit.

πŸ‘€ Player Spotlight

The main threat for The Linnets is Michael Gyasi, who scored a hat-trick on Tuesday night, as well as getting an equaliser on the opening day against Telford. Last season, Gyasi scored three goals against the Quakers for Peterborough Sports and will need to be watched carefully.

Midfielder Morgan Williams will be a threat in the middle, looking to dictate the pace of the game. Signed on a free after being released from League One side AFC Wimbledon, he linked up with Gyasi for his final goal on Tuesday.
