The club is very sad to learn about the sudden death of one of our Under 11 players, Leah Harrison, in a tragic incident.

Leah, who attended Mount Pleasant Primary School in Darlington, was a very popular member of our under 11 girls team, and had many friends at the club.

Her coach, John Woolnough, said; “We are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Leah, who only joined our football family this season but had quickly become a popular member amongst the girls.

“She was a joy to coach — always smiling and trying her best — and had shown big improvements during her time with us.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this terrible time."

As a mark of respect, our Under 11 game this weekend has been postponed, while all other games involving our youth teams will hold a minute’s silence before kick off.

Everyone at the club would like to pass on our very sincere condolences to Leah’s family, friends and team mates . May she rest in peace.
