Matty Young's loan extended

Keeper stays for the rest of the season

Darlington FC are pleased to announce that Sunderland have agreed to extend the loan of keeper Matty Young until the end of the season.

Matty joined us before we played at South Shields, and since then has played nine times for us, keeping three clean sheets as we have won seven out of those nine games and climbed the table.

Darlington manager Steve Watson said; "We are delighted that Matty is staying until the end of the season, he has put in some very good performances and proved why he is highly rated by Sunderland.

"It's a testament to the club, to his fellow players and to the fans that he wants to stay until the end of the season."

Everyone at Darlington FC is delighted that Matty is staying until the end of the season, and we would also like to thank Sunderland for loaning him out to us.

Matty will be missing for this Saturday's game at Rushall though, because he is away on England Under 18 duty for games against Czechia, Germany and Netherlands in Spain.
