Darlington manager Martin Gray has asked fans to keep pledging to the club’s fundraising schemes.

Darlington fans have invested £100,000 in an amazing three weeks to reach the first target in the Community share scheme for the return to Blackwell Meadows, but now MG wants the pledging to continue in order to fund more facilities at the rugby club.

“The fans have been fantastic in reaching the first target, but we need to keep going,” he said. “There are other facilities that need funding, which aren’t include in the first £100,000.

“For example, we need to have the best pitch that we can afford at Blackwell Meadows, and a water system to go with it. Everyone knows the problems we’ve had this season that have been caused by fixture congestion, and installing the best drainage and a sprinkler system in the new pitch will certainly help.”

Wayne Raper, the chairman of the DFCSG, said; “There is no harm in continuing to invest in the scheme. We must keep going and keep raising funds, because after all, we are investing in the future of our club.”

The DFCSG are answering questions about the Community Share scheme and its other activities in a netcafe on the website on Thursday night from around 7.30 pm.

Please mail your questions to netcafe@darlingtonfc.org.uk, with your name included.
