🔥 Match Preview

Darlo are looking to progress in the FA Cup as they travel to fellow National League North side Morecambe on Saturday.

The Quakers come into this fixture after a 1-1 draw at home against Hebburn Town, with Mark Beck getting his fourth of the season and securing our first home point of the season.

In the last round of the FA Cup, Darlo travelled to Redcar to take on Redcar Town, where the Quakers had to fight back after going 2-1 down to Redcar Town and were able to produce the comeback and win 4-2 on the day with goals from Dylan Stephenson, Toby Lees, Ben Hedley and Mark Beck to help get into the next round of the FA Cup.

Darlington’s opponents, Morecambe, have started to find their feet in the league recently after a poor start by their standards and come into this fixture after a 1-1 draw away to Oxford City with Joe Garner scoring the sole goal for The Shrimps.

In the last round of the FA Cup, Morecambe took on another National League North side in Southport, where The Shrimps walked out 2-0 winners with goals from Paul Lewis and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts.

The two sides have met a few times before, with the most recent meeting being in League Two, where Morecambe won 2-0 in the 09/10 season.

📰TEAM NEWS

Max Kilsby is back training and may be available for selection for Saturday.

Max Howells and Tom Platt remain out due to hamstring issues and have not returned to training, but are nearing a return to training.

Will Hatfield is back in training and could be in the squad within the next few weeks.

Tom Henson will miss the game due to picking up a small injury in training.

Thomas Bryant could be a doubt for the game following an off-the-field injury, but it’s not expected to be long-term.

Scott Barrow remains out indefinitely with a heart condition.

Jacob Hazel cannot feature in this game after playing in the previous round for Chester but may be available if we make the first-round proper.

Jonah Lowes and Hayden Atkinson cannot feature in cup competition due to loan agreements with Carlisle.

👤 Player Spotlight

Elliot Newby was signed in the summer for Morecambe and is tied for top scorer for The Shrimps and a very experienced midfielder with over 300 appearances between League Two, National League and National League North.

Another summer signing for The Shrimps is Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, who joined from Macclesfield in the summer after a solid season last year and scored in the last round of the FA Cup for Morecambe and was one of the scorers against Crystal Palace last year in the FA Cup upset.
