2016 finishes with the perfect win. The last game of the year was a spectacle for football lovers. From the off Darlington’s football was top drawer very quickly getting into a rhythm, creating lots of good chances but as the story of the season not taking them. Winning a penalty from good work from Lewis Smith unfortunately not putting the penalty away. The lads kept moving the ball. finally braking the deadlock late in the first half with a Lewis Smith goal.

With 5 changes in the second half we lost our way for the first 15mins. As it was clear the lads needed to get to the pace of the game quicker as the equaliser came from Hebburn and they deserved it.

That was only what we needed to fire us back up. Goals from Euan Devonshire and then Lewis Alderson who has stepped up from our U15s squad came in a space of 10 mins and from then on inwards there was only going to be one winner with a strike from Adam Cullen to match the great work.
