John Reed on target.
In the latest of our Pics from the Past series, Craig Stoddart goes back to 1993
On loan John Reed scores on his first start for the club during a match against Gillingham at Feethams on March 27th, 1993.
The forward played in the final ten games of the season, which saw Quakers finish 15th in the newly-named Division Three, after joining on loan from Sheffield United.
He had come off the bench a week earlier against fellow strugglers Northampton Town, a match Darlington won 3-1 as they steadily picked up points towards the end of the campaign, and Reed went on to make eight starts and two appearances as a substitute.
He also netted Quakers’ last goal of the season, the only goal of the game against Colchester United on May 4.
