Darlington manager Martin Gray says Saturday’s trials of potential players went “very well.”

The club threw open an invitation for triallists to come along to Longfield Road on Saturday, and MG, before he dashed off to the league presentation night in Blackpool, was impressed by what he saw.

“We had triallists who have previously been at clubs higher up the ladder, all of them between the ages of 19 and 21,” he said.

“The standard of everyone whom we saw was very good, and we’re going to invite several of them back to join in our pre-season preparations. The whole day went very well."

There were 26 triallists involved, with another eight signifying that they were interested but unavailable last Saturday.
