Karl Alexander has sent us copies of more programmes from the 1953-54 season!
We'd played 12 games by the end of September 1953, winning two and drawing five, before we faced Gateshead at Feethams on Saturday 3rd October. But we lost to the Tynesiders by 2-0.
We bounced back on 10th October with a 1-1 draw at Carlisle.
We found some good form with a 4-1 win over Accrington Stanley on 17th October -- it would be our best league win of the season, with 5,836 fans watching.
We beat Stockport County at home on 31st October, but we lost 2-0 at home to Wrexham on 14th November
Bradford City were going for promotion, and we lost to them on 5th December.
The trip to Mansfield was best forgotten -- a 6-0 defeat, our worst of the season. The programme looked good though.
