Karl Alexander has sent us some more images of programmes from the 1953-54 season:

We were bottom of Division Three north on Christmas Day 1953, level on points with Workington and Halifax. We drew 1-1 at the Old Show Ground

After beating Scunthorpe and losing to York, we went to Halifax on 9th January and drew 0-0

We needed to beat Bradford PA on 16th January, and we picked up two points with a 2-1 home win to climb off the bottom of the table.

We didn't play for three weeks from our 1-1 draw with Halifax on 30th January until we went to Gateshead on 20th February, and we won 2-1.

and the following week, we beat Carlisle 3-2 to go two points clear of bottom club Chester.
