FA cup programmes from Karl's collection
We had a notable FA Cup run in season 1955-56. We played Carlisle three times in the first round, playing two of the games under floodlights -- one of the first FA cup ties to be played in such conditions -- before we lost to Accrington Stanley in the second round.
There were 34,257 inside St James' Park for the second replay, which meant that the three games were watched by over 60,000 people in total.
