Programmes through the years -- 1949 part 1

More from Karl Alexander's extensive collection

Darlington fan Karl Alexander has an extensive programme collection, and today we display several of his programmes from the 1949-50 season

The programme from our opening game of the season in the Fourth Division of season 1949-50 -- an away game at Brighton that we lost 10.

After drawing at home to Crewe, here's the programme from our first Saturday home game of the season, at home to Halifax Town which we won 5-1.

We travelled to Doncaster on Thursday 8th September, but we lost 2-1.

And then on 15th October we went to Lincoln, but lost 2-0 (and Karl will be pleased if he comes across an undamaged copy of this programme)!

We had three games in four days around Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we won 3-1 at Halifax.

On Boxing Day, we lost 3-2 at home to Gateshead.

But drew the game at Redheugh Park on the 27th December
