We'd finished 19th in Division Three North the previous season, and were hoping for an improvement on that.
We started the season with a 3-1 home win over Southport
We lost 5-0 at Oldham on 26th August 1952, but then we won 1-0 at Crewe on the 30th
We lost 2-0 at home to Port Vale on 6th September 1952, our third defeat in five league games
Our results improved before we went to Mansfield on 29th September, but we lost 3-2
Barrow came along on 25th October 1952, and we beat them 1-0
We went across to Wales on 18th October, and lost 4-2
