The board of directors of Darlington FC have announced that Jim Provett will be the club’s second choice goalkeeper in the new season, doubling up with his job as goalkeeping coach.

32 year old Jim has a wealth of experience in the Football League and non league, and last season was our goalkeeping coach, looking after Peter Jameson and Mark Bell.

Jim has played for Hartlepool and Bury in the Football League, and Harrogate Town, Gateshead and Norton outside the Football League. He also had a loan spell at Spennymoor United nine years ago.

Manager Martin Gray said; “Jim has plenty of playing experience, and did a great job looking after our two keepers last season. He will be ideal cover for Peter Jameson.”
