Quaker Women beaten at Consett

Home side gain revenge for County Cup win

The Quaker Women suffered their third league defeat of the season on Sunday.
Darlington actually started the game well and were dominant in the first quarter of an hour, creating chances and on another day would have taken the lead. Consett were clinical with their first chance on goal and then added a second to go in at half time 2-0 up.
 
In the second half, Darlington were pushing to get back in the game and Consett punished them with a 3rd and 4th goal within 8 minutes of each other. Consett saw the game out well and added a 5th without reply. A 5-0 scoreline that perhaps suggests a more one sided affair than it actually was but a talented Consett side deserved the 3 points on the day and extend their lead in 2nd place.
