Quaker Women in FA Cup action
By Ray Simpson
Away to Bedlington on Sunday
Darlington FC Women are back playing in the Women’s FA Cup this weekend. They travel to play Bedlington Belles F.C in the First Round Qualifying.
The Quaker Women have a good record in the Qualifying rounds and have made it to the Third Round Qualifying in both of their previous FA Cup campaigns, only to beaten by higher league opposition, Farsley Celtic in 2021 and Middlesbrough F.C in 2022.
They will be looking to get as far as they can in the competition once again. Bedlington will certainly be up for it, with it being their first ever FA cup tie, although forming in 2020, a year before Darlington. A home tie against Sunderland West End awaits the winning the side in the second round qualifying.
It would be great to have some travelling support and there will be some live entertainment in the clubhouse after the game. What more can you want?
Please be aware next Sunday is the Great North Run, so to be aware of any road closures if travelling.
