Quaker Women in FA Cup action on Sunday

Away to Hebburn

The Quaker Women are back in FA Cup action on Sunday when they travel to Hebburn to play in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup First Round Qualifying after progressing with a 4-0 win over Heaton Hawks in the Preliminary Round.

Unlike Heaton Hawks, Hebburn are a known team to Darlington, playing in the Durham FA Premier Division, they have met many times before, including a League Cup Semi-Final in which Darlington won 6-2 in May 2024.

Last season, the two sides met twice in the league with Darlington coming out on top both times. The first game was an away fixture in November 2024, which saw the Quakers come away with a 5-0 win. The goals came from Hattie Raine (2) , Chloe Ryan, Lily Wilkinson and Nicole Graham on the day. They met again at Eastbourne at the beginning of this year, with Darlington winning the game 6-1 with goals from Grace Dobson, Hattie Raine, Sara Ellis and Aimee Dagnall in the first 35 minutes, and then Hattie Raine and Lily Wilkinson adding to the score in the second half.

Although Darlington have had the better of Hebburn in recent years, that will mean nothing in the FA Cup. Hebburn have recruited well this season and have had some great pre season results. They will be looking to get one over on Darlington and be in the hat for the next round.

Please note that this Sunday is also the Great North Run. If travelling to support, please check road closures and give enough time to get there for kick off at 2pm
The Quaker Women would love to have your support as they try to overcome Hebburn to make the Second Round Qualifying.
