Quaker Women looking for second league win
By Ray Simpson
Away game at Birtley on Sunday
Darlington F.C Women travel to the Arrowmark Home Improvements Stadium to take on Birtley Town on Sunday.
The two teams know each other fairly well after meeting 3 times last season. Birtley took the 3 points at their place and Darlington responded in the return fixture and took the 3 points at Eastbourne.
Both teams then met in the League Cup Final and it was a closely contested game with Birtley coming away with the silverware with a 3-1 victory.
Birtley started their league campaign with a Thursday night trip to Leam Rangers and won 5-2, the same team that Darlington then beat 4-2 at the weekend.
Both sides also won their First Round Qualifying FA Cup ties with Birtley beating last year's league winners Chester Le Street Amazons 2-1 and Darlington overcoming GT7 Ladies with a 3-1 victory.
So that’s 2 wins from 2 games for both teams so far this season and both will be wanting to keep their 100% record, it should be a cracking tie.
We would appreciate your travelling support on Sunday. It will be £1 entry to the ground
