Quakers come home at last!

After four and a half years we make our return to Darlington on Boxing Day in what is sure to be a fantastic day for everybody involved in the club, as we face Halifax Town at Blackwell Meadows.

The game is already sold out and hopefully everybody inside the ground will be able to create a fantastic atmosphere, especially in the Tin Shed!  Remember to arrive at the ground in plenty of time for the game, the matchday experience will be very different for everyone concerned. (There is a feature on the Tin Shed in our matchday programme!)

We’re hoping to perfectly mark our return to Darlington with a victory. Our recent run has seen us slip to fifth in the league table just four points ahead of Halifax.

Last weekend we lost at Kidderminster,2-1, despite taking an early lead through David Syers.

Halifax have won four of their nine games on the road in the league so far, but lost their last league away game at Curzon Ashton.

They had a fantastic run in the FA Cup this season where they reached the second round of the competition before exiting in a replay with National Premier side Eastleigh.

The last meeting between the two sides saw us beat Halifax back in 2002, 5-0, but many Darlington fans of an older generation will remember Drew Coverdale and Les McJannet scoring in a 3-0 win in the FA cup in 1989.
