Quakers win first friendly game
By Ray Simpson

Away game at Blyth's Croft Park
Quakers will start their first pre season friendly at Blyth -- belatedly because the referee and other match officials have been delayed because of heavy traffic -- with the following starting line up.
Pete Jameson, Alfie Myers-Smith (triallist), Toby Lees, Elliot Forbes, Josh Scott, Tom Platt, Will Hatfield, Cyril Giraud (triallist), Matty Kirokiro (from the under 23s) Aidan Rutledge, Cedric Main
The first half was fairly even. Pete Jameson saved by Dan Maw -- who was with Darlington last season -- while Quakers had some good pressure going towards half time, and the Blyth keeper did well to tip a diving header by Aidan Rutledge over the bar.
The second half team: Pete Jameson, Alfie Myers-Smith (who looked quite useful in the first half), Elliot Forbes, Scott Barrow, Ben Hedley, Kallum Griffiths, Will Maddison, Will McGowan, Matty Kirokiro, Jack Maskell, Cyril Giraud
Quakers seemed to be getting on top at the start of the second half, but Blyth took the lead when Dean Briggs fired home from the edge of the box.
But Quakers were level on 69 minutes when Jack Maskell chested down a right wing cross for Matty Kirokiro to volley in.
Quakers finished the game stronger, and after the Blyth keeper pulled off a couple of good saves, Jack Maskell had a header blocked, but the ball ran for Cyril Giraud to blast into the roof of the net
