Quakers sign Adriano Moke

Midfielder joins the club

Darlington have today signed experienced midfielder Adriano Moke.

Adriano, who is 32, was released by Spennymoor a fortnight ago, and manager Alun Armstrong has moved quickly to secure his signature.

During his career, Adriano has won the FA Trophy twice and promotion to the Football League with York City in two separate spells.

Adriano, who was born in Portugal, started his career at Leeds and then Nottingham Forest before a productive trial at the Glenn Hoddle Soccer School saw him move for a season to Jerez in Spain in 2010.

He returned to England to play for York in 2011, helping them win promotion to the Football League and win the trophy at Wembley in 2012, before switching to Cambridge United. He then went on to play for Tamworth, Macclesfield, Halifax, Stockport, Wrexham and Boreham Wood before moving back to York in 2016. He helped them to win the Trophy again in 2017, before he moved to Spennymoor in the summer of 2020.

Adriano, who will be squad number 16, spoke to the official website before training on Tuesday
