Quakers narrowly lose to Doncaster

First home friendly of the season

Quakers put in a great display but were beaten by EFL Division Two club Doncaster at Blackwell Meadows.

They gave Doncaster plenty to think about throughout the game, and in the first half went close through Jack Maskell, who had an impressive first game at Blackwell Meadows, Cedric Main and Cameron Salkeld.

The defence coped well against a nippy visiting attack, but went behind on 50 minutes when the visitors broke down the right and Ben Hedley unfortunately put the ball into his own goal.

They still had their moments after that, but they didn't quite get the breaks inside the Doncaster penalty area.
